We invite all interested university students to

the International Student Team Competition in Mathematics

organized by the University od Silesia, Katowice (Poland) and Uppersilesian Branch of the Polish Mathematical Society, will take place from November 10th till 12th 2023 in Katowice, Poland.

The competition official language is English.

Friday, November 10th

•  9 a.m. - 9.45 a.m. Registration, Main Building ot the Faculty of Humanities, Uniwersytecka str. 4
• 10 a.m. Welcome to the participants, reminder of the Rules and official opening of the Competition — Mikolaj Kopernik's Hall (213); Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Bankowa str. 14
• 10.15 a.m.- 2.15 p.m. Individual part of the Competition — auditorium halls, Uniwersytecka str. 4 and Bankowa str. 14
•  3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Meeting of the Jury — Uniwersytecka str. 4, room B 0.21

Saturday, November 11th

• 10 a.m.    Meeting of the teams — main entrance to the Faculty of Humanities, Uniwersytecka str. 4
• 10.15 a.m.- 2.15 p.m. Team part of the Competition — different rooms at Uniwersytecka str. 4 and Bankowa str. 14.

Sunday, November 12th

• 10.30 a.m. - 12 a.m. Award Ceremony and closing of the Competition — Mikolaj Kopernik's Hall (227); Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Bankowa str. 14

In the individual part there will be five problems in the following areas: mathematical analysis (with topology and set theory), functional equations (including differential equations), algebra and combinatorics, geometry and linear algebra, probability theory. The team part will consist of ten problems.

Participation in person (in Katowice) is free of charge, remote participation is charged with a fee (see §6 p.2 of the Rules). Registration will be open untill 31th of October.
